Women of Wai'anae Wins the Hawaii Women Lawyers 2015 Presidential Award

On April 17, 2015, the Women of Wai'anae received the Hawaii Women Lawyers 2015 Presidential Award for its unique scholarship program targeting non-traditional students on the Wai'anae coast. The Hawaii Women Lawyers Annual Awards reception was held at the Plaza Club. President Karen Young along with several WOW members immensely enjoyed the sumptious buffet dinner and dessert. Other award recipients were Janet Kelly - Woman Lawyer of the Year, Jennifer Ching - Outstanding Judicial Achievement, Bobby Chong - Lifetime Achievement, and Honorable Karen Radius - Distinguished Acheivement Award. Each awardee, including our very own President Karen (second from right), gave an impassioned speech that produced much laughter and tears. Being recognized in the company of such illustrious winners brought home how important our work is to this community.
